I don't like the word victim

I see this messaging "I am a victim of H8"

Which I get, but still -the word victim rubs me the wrong way. It implies passivity...maybe that's too harsh. We can't wait around as victims. It also makes people feel like they're aggressors - maybe they are, but it doesn't seem all that constructive as a label...
